Ballast Point to Introduce an industry leading 10-Year Warranty on Housing
So I’ve been warned against this by everyone I have spoken to - why take on additional liability, why put the business at unnecessary risk?
I’m unmoved. My response: “If we can’t build something that lasts at least 10 years we should not be building at all”
Starting in 2025 - our 10th year - all Ballast Point builds and major renovations will come with a 10-year warranty on major defects. This move goes beyond the industry standard six years, we see it as an investment in our customers, our team, and the broader construction industry.
Why a 10-Year Warranty?
A Commitment to Quality
We want to signal to the market that we stand by our work. A home should be built to last, and a 10-year warranty reflects our confidence in the quality we deliver. If something goes wrong within that time, we’ll make it right.Building Trust with Customers
Homeowners deserve peace of mind. Knowing that their builder is committed for the long haul fosters trust and reassures our clients that we are here to support them, even years after the project is complete.Raising Industry Standards
We hope to inspire other builders to think beyond the bare minimum. By focusing on a 10-year horizon, we’re encouraging the industry to prioritise durability and quality over shortcuts and quick fixes.A focus for our Team
The warranty sharpens our focus on quality and encourages us to continuously improve our processes.
How Does It Work?
The 10-year warranty will cover major defects such as:
Roof leaks.
Structural issues.
Waterproofing failures.
It does not cover minor cosmetic issues or items with shorter manufacturer warranties, like light fittings or appliances. However, we believe this extended warranty ensures that critical aspects of your home are protected for a full decade.
If we can’t build homes that last at least 10 years without major issues, we shouldn’t be building at all. We’re proud to lead the way with this initiative and look forward to setting a new standard in the Inner West and beyond.
